Chat About Our Past Week

So, last week was a wreck for us here. We had a family emergency and we are still dealing with the aftermath. It’s going to take a bit to recover and recuperate from that.

I basically took the week off from all sorts of life in general last week in order to regain some balance and composure.

Thankfully I had enough scheduled on most of my public platforms to keep up appearances last week. Not so much for this week.

Now to get back on track.

No. The January zine has not been released yet. You have not missed it.

It is still in process.

Why?

I of course got lost in things and let it sit off to the side waiting for me to get back to it.

No. I did not release a stitch pattern dishcloth pattern when I said I would. I did release an older washcloth pattern because I had it to hand.

I cannot for the life of me find 1 the vintage stitch pattern booklet I had planned to use for this project and 2 any of my other stitch pattern books–including my Barbara Walker Treasurys, which is extremely irksome.

Until I can find them, this project is on hold.

No. I did not release a free printable. I have some mock-ups for undated weekly pages set aside, but when it came to choosing what idea to go with, my brain balked and I could not move forward.

Honestly, I have not even sketched in my January piece for my Morticia planner at this late date because I cannot find that one idea that I want to work with. I have been working on two different canvas pieces, but the one I sketched out in about 2015 and haven’t touched much since. The other is an abstract piece that started out as something to wipe excess paint off my brushes and tools while I worked on other things. I covered up all those marks with Payne’s grey and gesso. The gesso I mixed with a darker blue to lighten it up. Why gesso? Because I could not for the life of me find my white paint tubes–none of them.

So now you see the story of my life at the moment.

Can’t find it. Make do with something else. Cranky cranky ’cause I can’t find squat.

Let me put it this way. I just bought two books that I KNOW I own because I have spent more than two weeks trying to figure out where they might be and I can’t find them. And I want to make up patterns in both books rather insistently — so I found the cheapest used book price and re-bought the two books.

Some days I feel as though I am losing my mind–because I actually am.

Now–I will probably be off-balance for a while, but I am committing to at least keep up with my writing and posting.

Everything else–I will catch up with as I can.

Thanks for coming along with me on this ride.
