  • What Was The Best Horror Movie I Watched This Spooky Season?

Now, I actually worked hard to watch only new to me movies and not my old favorites.

I did buy the, what, 2004, Salem’s Lot mini-series. All it did was make me want to read the book, but, oh, Rutger Hauer is always worth watching and rewatching in anything. In my opinion anyway.

I loved The Hidden (2015) with Alexander Skarsgard. I love anything that leaves me hanging in that way, begging for another movie to go even deeper.

Longlegs (2024) hooked me early and held on to me. I did not expect the ending, but it was good. Nicolas Cage, man, he always has something up his sleeve. Sometimes you want it; sometimes you run from it.

A Quiet Place Day 1 (2024) nearly broke me. Oh my gosh. That was so amazing. We had to watch it two times in a row, just to make sure the cat was ok throughout the film.

The Watchers (2024) was fairly good. Nowhere near the quality of the book…but, hey. I love that both Fanning sisters were in it in the end. However, always remember folks, that the WINNERS write History. If you believe this is what a Changeling is and does, be very careful where you tread.

I have so many DNFs in my list. I tried to watch some. So many were just not worth it for me.

However, I think, other than A Quiet Place Day 1, my favorite Halloween movie this year is: Trick ‘r Treat (2007). I cannot explain how I have never seen this movie before. Anna Paquin in this movie, lol, I just loved it. Not to mention, what kind of monster are you to take down all of your outside Halloween decorations while people are still out and about on Halloween night? That one, she got what she deserved there. The whole…go put the tape in though…hysterical…wow…

    What about you?

What was your favorite Halloween/Spooky Time movie?

Did you stick with the old favorites? Or did you branch out into some new territories?
