I have been talking randomly over my social media about how Passion Planner has changed their affiliate program, or rather they are in the process of changing the way they do things. When I originally found out I was accepted as an Ambassador for Passion Planner I had decided not to continue using Passion Planner as I had found something else that was working better for me, so again, now that they are re-organizing their program I had basically decided I was done with Passion Planner and using something different moving forward.
As I did with my original acceptance, I pulled out a Passion Planner from a previous year and got to work. And kept using the Passion Planner even after I decided not to continue participating in repetitive activities that brought no benefit to me nor to my subscribers. This time, I did the same thing…went looking through my stash, because this is a no extraneous buy year for me—which means if I already have a stack of something, that gets used first—and I have stacks of Passion Planners, thanks to eBay.
Originally, I pulled out an old weekly Passion Planner, in the original large size, that I planned to re-date and do I have no clue what with throughout 2025. I did a lot of collage in that one— but as I started setting up my planners for 2025, after all my planner subscription boxes arrived—I realized that the large size was going to be overwhelming for me in the coming year.
I set the large planner aside and figured something would come to me, especially since I sat at my desk watching YouTube videos about planner set-ups for 2025…I figured inspiration would strike. Guess what? I was right.
I have in my possession a small (A5) purple daily Passion Planner and I wanted to find that planner to use it … for what reason I no longer remember. I lost my train of thought while I was looking for said planner…and to date, that particular planner is still in a safe place in the house (that means no one knows where it is nor are we likely to find it except some time down the road when we trip over it by accident…).
I did find that I have a full year’s worth of large Passion Planner daily notebooks (I cannot keep saying planner 100 times in a single sentence, so please bear with me.) in a drawer…and lo and behold, in a completely different place, I had a full year of small Passion Planner daily notebooks. This was the very last direct purchase from Passion Planner that I made before becoming an ambassador.
The Passion Planner small size is an A5 size, which works for me.
Now, I cannot tell you exactly why the search for a daily Passion Planner commenced, but by the time I stumbled over my stash of small dailies, I had another idea in mind. It is this second idea that I am going to lean into with these planners this year.
Looking through my planner and notebook stack, I found that I had not created a space for tracking my crochet work, or my sewing, or for making books…and thus began the “Handbook and Brainstorming” planner/tracker/notebook came to be.
Now, the copyright date in all four of this set of small daily Passion Planners is 2020. The large daily Passion Planner that I used throughout December 2024 has a copyright date of 2021. There were so many differences between the two editions.
In the small dailies, in the front of the book, was the “Hearto” story (written and illustrated by Angelia Trinidad)…there are no monthly spreads, which for me right now is actually a good thing. I think there are a couple more blank dot grid pages in the back for notes. The monthly check=in is still the same in the dailies, and there is an at-the-end-of this-planner reflection.
Now, I bought this set of daily planner (just the basic black ones) years ago, as I said. On the back of every single planner is a sticker that says Made In China. I have had to use Un-Du to remove the sticker cleaning because that thing did not want to come off. I have not had that issue with any other Passion Planner in my memory, not even the ones I bought before this set.
For those of you saying, didn’t you say you bought the seasonal quartet of daily Passion Planners recently? Yep. I did. I do not know what I am ‘saving’ these planners for, but it felt disingenuous to pull them out to use for this. That’s how I felt…and so…the black dailies from ever ago instead.
Now, to “set up” the first of the four daily planners for the year, I removed pages five to twelve. Yes, nearly every page is numbered, beginning with page two to page two hundred and twenty-seven. I glued page four to page thirteen. And then I glued page two and three together because page two is that weird page that is partially bound/glued to the page on the other side so you can’t open your book up all that well without ripping it free and potentially destroying your spine. I erred on the side of caution, and since I didn’t need the information on page two or three (‘How Will You Benefit From Passion Planner Daily?’ and a message from Angelia).
I still have the ‘Free Space Of Inspiration’ page (page fourteen) and the ‘Just Start’ title page where you keep your date started and date completed for your planner (page fifteen). I also have the ‘Your Passion Roadmap’ and ‘This Month’s Gamechanger Goal” pages (pages sixteen and seventeen). I don’t feel I am missing anything having done this.
Following those two pages are the four pages of the Future Log before dumping out directly on the first two-page spread for January 1.
These planners are undated. On the left page, at the top right-hand corner, there is a small space that is followed by the initials for the days of the week. You could jot down the numbers for the day and month, then circle the corresponding initial for the day of the week. However, there is also a small box directly under this space. What I have done is I write out the whole word of the day of the week across the initial space and in the box underneath that I write the month and the number of the day.
I used one of the tabs from my Cocoa Daisy sub box to create a January tab and put that on the first daily spread (sandwiching page twenty-one and twenty-two between it). I did add a ‘hello January’ sticker on the right-side page of that first spread. I added a bit of washi tape along the bottom of the page as well. I went through the month of January and added a strip of washi tape to the bottom of the right-side page for every Monday spread so that I have that visual cue to see that this is a Monday, in case I miss that. That trick helped me a lot in December.
In the back pocket of the planner, there was a ‘Notes To Self’ card thingy, as well as the usual Passion Planner sticker sheet.
I glued the ‘Notes To Self’ card down to the inside front cover to cover that front page up. On the facing page, there is the space for your name and information, and under that is ‘A Little Note To Self’ space. I added some washi tape to cover up the remaining visible text and whatnot, with a skinny washi at the top of the card thingy so it looked more balanced.
I put a sticker down to cover up the little note space. It’s a puffed-up puffer fish that says, ‘Give Me A Freakin’ Minute I’m Overstimulated.’ I put the Passion Planner sticker ‘It doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to start’ on the cover. Now that I have done that, I wish had had swapped those two stickers — the puffer fish on the cover and the Passion Planner sticker inside.
That’s my current Passion Planner set-up. I will do a flip through once there is something in the planner (probably end of January or beginning of February) as I am still not too clear on how I plan to use the planner to track my projects.
