  • Quarter Four Plans And Goals

The fourth quarter began on the first of October.

October was a rough month for me, mentally, physically, and spiritually.

The planet itself is in such a rough and terrible space itself that it’s no wonder many empaths are feeling the repercussions of those energies.

I bought myself some hematite bracelets and those have helped me tremendously with my focus and mood.

I have also tried to rekindle my journaling process. The actual journaling process isn’t going all that well at the moment, although slowly day-by-day it is improving. As with everything, it is a work in progress.

I am thinking of moving into an art journal and working in mixed media for a while rather than sticking strictly to words alone. We’ll have to see how that goes.

I did very little of anything in the month of October, other than snuggle with my cats. Technically, I completed about five crochet projects. That was my least accomplished month since my year of crochet struck me earlier in the year.

The house projects I wanted to get done did not get done.

The crochet decorating projects I had planned did not get done.

Heck, the baking and treat-making I wanted to get done did not get done.

It was one of those months where I went to bed exhausted and I woke up exhausted.

But, November is here and I shall move forward.

    Goals for November?

No NaNoWriMo for me this year. Even though I was so thrilled and happy that my father sent me an article on NaNo, I decided this year with how I have felt of late, putting that much added stress on myself is not what I need, so I will write, but I will not hold myself to the grindstone for NaNo, at least not until next April.

I have started a new pullover (crochet). I set aside the unfinished Halloween blanket I was working on in October and started a Holiday blanket for the December holidays. I’m working on that now instead.

I have three other sweaters planned for this month. Plus, the Christmas tree challenge, is far easier than I thought. I may write about the whys and wherefores of those pullovers at a later time.

I am setting up planners and notebooks for 2024. I am working on a Practical Magic writing series (that I had started before on Medium, but since I barely wrote at all in October, that didn’t gain much purchase last month.) I am also working on a crochet series. I have at least three other topics that I will be working on once I finish these.

I am reorganizing my desk space and removing all of our youngest’s stuff that he has thrown onto my desk, under my desk, on my chair, and in the general vicinity of my desk so as to keep the office to himself. (his words, darlings, his words).

Consistency is my overarching goal in all areas of my life.

For December, my goals are family-based. I want to spend more time with my core family here. I do not travel if I can help it when the weather becomes cold, icy, and/or snowy. (long story, not today)

I have at least one, perhaps two pullovers, planned for myself in December. I was planning to make Weasley sweaters for my guys here, but my youngest is far too picky about how things fit him. I think I will make him a bag, with a strap (yes, a murse) with his initial on it, like a Weasley sweater, instead.
My husband, bless him, is naturally warm. Crocheting him a Weasley sweater would make me feel bad if he tried it on, got too warm, and then never wore it again. I knit him an Einstein jacket years and years ago. The only one who has worn it, or rather used it, are the cats. Real wool and cats = oh my god, how do I get the cat fur, inches deep, off of it…and not much more. I made it for him to wear on his ski trips, but it was too warm and too heavy and so…there ya go.

Yes. I did consider buying the proper colors in cotton yarn. However…#1 I do not want to work up any sweater in dishcloth cotton and #2 I have already spent my yarn budget for this year for the holidays…from Halloween to Thanksgiving/Indigenous Peoples Day (USA) to all of the December holidays. So, there’s that. I will keep an eye out next year on yarn sales for cotton blends, or even linens, things of that nature, because at some point I do want to make the man a Weasley sweater and have him wear it.

Although no matter what yarn I get or use, if I make it for a Halloween costume, I can dress him up as Mr Weasley and I will dress up as Molly…and that would be perfect…even though my preference is still and always will be Gomez and Morticia…lol

I do have the intention to crochet or sew up holiday stockings for this year unless our youngest decides on something else. Then again, I can always do it anyway for my husband and myself and call it a day, if the child so desires.

And that is all I have for Quarter Four, at the moment, that I am willing to expose to public view at this time.

I will keep you up to date as we continue along through this quarter.
