Most years, when October comes around, we watch scary movies every single night. Well, that’s sort of our go-to all of the time, so how will that be any different for Spooky Season?
I want something different for spooky season this year.
I want to read at least fifteen to twenty horror novels throughout October. I originally thought, sure, let’s do one a day, but, although I could do that, depending upon the books I choose, it would leave me no time to do anything else.
Of course, we will still be watching all of our favorite movies, like Halloweentown and the rest that we have watched since my older two kids were young. We will of course throw a couple newer things into the mix, like the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Wednesday.
I have been pondering working more with my youngest about Veil-Work and other things, so that he can connect to his Ancestors more, so he can know his own mother more, but we’ll see how he feels when we reach that point.
Now, all of this reading revolves around whether or not I can get the books I want to get. I do have a stack of books my dad has sent in the past month. I have read a lot of them, but still have a lot more left to read.
The library has several of the books I do want to read, but it is the public library, so when I get the books will depend upon when the book is returned, when I get to the library to pick it up myself, all of that.
Another thing I have been pondering, since it is also Preptober in October, writing some little crunchy spooker pieces throughout the month. Maybe I will be posting those during the month, or maybe I will hold on to them until another time. That all depends on how I feel about the pieces. We’ll have to see.
I will keep you updated, on books, on movies, and on spooker tales.
