Where Have I Been?

To say I am a germ magnet would be an understatement. My immune system is lax and compromised. I know this. We all know this. And germs, they find me whether I am hiding or walking free.

And thus, I think I have been sick more this year than I have not.

All I asked for was a December (in 2024) where I wasn’t sick…and I indeed got that.

And I paid for that ask in the early months of 2025.

If you look at my planners, my journals, my notebooks, I basically gave up in April because I was too ill and … I am only now, when it is nearly June, feeling up to trying to get back to work.

I neglected doing anything for Sarra Cannon’s Rough Draft Challenge in April.

I neglected doing anything for the Flash Fiction Story A Day Challenge hosted by the Resilient Writers community.

I completely forgot about Mer-May…as well as Me Made May.

The only thing I worked on with any energy at all was the Yarnspirations Cardigan CAL…only not quite as they intended. (I’ll discuss this later in a different post.)

I basically curled up either in my recliner or in my bed, coughed and hacked and tried to muddle through. I would work my way through one set of germs with one set of symptoms…and fumble into the next set of germs where the process began again.

The coughing, hacking, sinus draining thwack to my system was the last I caught, and the one that has held on the longest.

Am I completely through with this … mess at the moment? Not quite.
But I am getting there.

All this to say, I am back. I am working towards … not catching up … but moving forward.

I am so glad you are still here and following along.
