Wer-maid? Were-Maid? Were-Maiden?
All of the above are as in werewolf + mermaid.
It doesn’t even have to be a wolf. It is just easier to get the reference when you hear werewolf, versus, say, wer-cat, wer-beaver, or wer-monkey.
If a mermaid could shift into any creature, what would it be?
I started out thinking what land creature, but maybe there are water-bound wer-creatures as well.
How did that mermaid become a wer-maid?
Why did you choose the creature for your wer-maid?
Repeat this as an exercise until you squeeze all the tiniest bits of juice out of it.
