I Set Myself Yet Another Challenge For 2024

Or maybe I should say I added to a challenge I had already given myself.

For my 2024 “Temperature Blanket”, my intention is to make a blanket, any blanket, any color, for no real reason, other than I can.

But that is not the only blanket I mean to make in 2024.

Our youngest has requested an orange and purple blanket “with holes’ which means granny stitch. He wants it as a lighter blanket for spring and summer.

I plan to make the Dark Mother a blanket in ode to Her and to our journey together in years past and during this coming year. I have ordered the yarn and it is on the way.

I have a stash of Loops and Threads Charisma Dragonfly yarn to make a blanket for our bed. It’s not an anniversary blanket because the ‘anniversary blanket’ is a separate blanket on the to be made in 2024 list.

I bought two patterns (in 2023) that I have to make yet: The Catghan (for our youngest child) and the holly jolly blanket (another for our bed, or maybe our couch, we’ll see).

I am still sitting on the Burrows Blanket yarn that needs to be turned into a blanket…and this is the year to do that.

Eight blankets to make in 2024. That isn’t counting the ones that I set aside in 2023: the Mom and Pop Halloween blanket, the green and white ever-expanding granny square, and of course the holidays blanket I worked on over the December holidays — that my cat did not allow me to work on as often as I would like.
