Yes, this planner is specifically for crochet projects. I am not currently planning any knitting projects for the coming year, but I won’t say never. I know better.
I bought a simple pre-printed planner, under $10 US from Amazon.
I have my own project tracker notebook, a slim dot-grid Sunshine Sticker Co (sadly now defunct), but I thought I needed a more streamlined manner in which to track everything.
I also just wanted something to use for a while that I didn’t need to set up myself, so perhaps I could read all of my various scribbles and whatnot per project.
I didn’t check what size the planner was when I ordered it. It was cheap. It didn’t matter what size it came to me. If it came too small, I would take the spreads as designed in the planner and write them out in a notebook of my own that was the proper size.
It turns out the planner is about an A4 size. It has a soft cover. Each project has its own two-page spread. On the back pages it says, copyright Studio Open Mind. There are no page numbers.
There is no index, but there are pages for favorite social media sites; your own social media content ideas; a goals tracker with space for goals, actions steps, and deadlines; and a sales tracker (which I won’t be using, but it is interesting to have).
On the left side of the spread, you have all your more practical information: when you start and finish, space for your yarn, space for a yarn sample, space for a sketch or photo, a rating system of various factors, plus who you are making it for, how much you are selling it for (if you are selling it), design source, and washing instructions.
On the right side of the spread, is a project breakdown page. There is an area for the steps you will need to take to complete the project, as well as a dot grid area where you can sketch or draw out your motif, if necessary.
There is a lot more to this planner than I had anticipated. I am actually fairly impressed with this book.
I rather like everything it contains. I like this planner.
I want to feel more organized and more conscientious in the coming year.
This is the only planner (that I am aware of) that I am not beginning to use until next year. I have been calling this year (2023) my year of crochet. Next year, I want to be able to pull out a single notebook and flip through to see every project I made during a single year.
What about you? Do you have anything special set up to track your projects? Be they crochet, knitting, or anything else… Let me know in the comments below.
