It is nearly October now. I am hoping that our youngest is happy with the amount of work I have put in for him for Halloween, from his blanket, to his pumpkins, to his pullovers, to his cardigans.
I have also made a lot of pullovers for myself, a ton of hats for the family, finished a CAL, and made some things for the house as well.
Did I complete every single project I had intended to complete before October arrives?
Nope. And I do not think that I will be able to do so. I am just going to keep working on what I have in front of me and move from there.
What I do have currently in progress are three different projects.
The first project is what I am calling the granny square vest-y thingy pullover. Like the technical terms of it? It’s where you start the front and the back panels by making one big granny square for each. You can see the details of my project here on Ravelry. I am just sort of winging this one as I go along. This project has stalled more often from a territorial cat sitting on the panels and not letting me near them, at which point I turn to a different project and work on that one.
The second one is a set, hopefully, of keyhole kitchen towels, using a big skein, maybe even a pound, of cotton yarn that my mother gave me ages ago because it made her hands hurt too much to work with it. I take whatever towel I am working on — right now, it is the first one of the ‘set’ — with me when we go out or when I go to an appointment and work on it there. I am not sure how many towels I will be able to get out of this big ball of yarn because it came to me partially used and with no labels—which is perfectly fine (free yarn, always good, period), so if we get one or two or three, whatever, it’s all good. I do not think that I have given myself a date as a goal for completion. When I get them all done, I get them done. You can see this project’s details on Ravelry here.
The last one is a simple raglan pullover. I am using bulky yarn. I am working in DC (US terminology) for the entire sweater. I love the colors of this yarn. I think at some point I want to make myself a cardigan using this same colorway. This should be done in a day or two, depending upon what else is going on in my days. You can check out the details for this project here on Ravelry.
Once I am finished with these three projects, I am planning to make a Halloween blanket for my husband and myself. That was the original deal with our youngest. I make him a blanket for Halloween and I make me/us a blanket for Halloween. His is finished. Ours is still waiting to be made. We’ll see how long it takes to make.
I am planning on using Big Twist Value Solids in black and Herrschner’s Worsted 8 Celebrate yarn in the colorway Halloween. I am still pondering the pattern, but I do have a few ideas I am swirling around while I do other things.
What about you? How are your plans going?
