I am using an A5 Stalogy notebook. I started out using some Midliner markers for a touch of color, as well as some Hubman and Chubgirl stickers, and a black pen. I do use highlighters to highlight things I need to as they come up.
Well, so far, I am loving this setup.
I set up each week individually before each week starts. Or in the case of this week, on Monday first thing when I get up because the Sunday before was too much for me to make the time to set up the week.
The weekly setup is not all that complicated.
A one-page weekly spread. A to-do page. An Anchor Card of the Week page. And then we get into the daily pages, which I do not set up until the night before after I finish logging in the current day.
In addition to the weekly to-do page, I have been lining off a small section on the daily pages to put in to-dos that need to be done in a more timely manner. Sometimes I log two days on one page.
I do take notes, write down ideas, create mini-plans for any given project, on whatever page is next in the midst of the daily pages.
At the end of the week, after logging that Sunday — as my weeks begin on Monday — I set up a Week In Review page, a What Worked/What Didn’t Work page, and sometimes I also add a brain dump/brainstorm page, depending on how I am feeling. Sometimes I do not feel I need this page because the Weekly review page brings up enough stuff that the brain dump becomes unnecessary.
Other than random highlighting, I gave up on the markers and outlining pages after the first week. I am loving the Hubman and Chubgirl weekly planning stickers and other decorative stickers for the weekly planning setup pages.
The only thing I am actually missing is: a future log/2024 calendar. We do make appointments six months to a year ahead of time in some cases, so having the ability to write those down on the calendar itself would be beneficial.
Yes, I could pull out any of the current planners that I have, like my two Hobonichi Weeks planners, but I don’t really want to do that right now.
I have been thinking of just getting a monthly spread only planner, perhaps even a TN insert of one, and using that for keeping track of appointments and classes and things of that nature.
